Jizai Gake Ebisu

Jizai kagi (adjustable hook) used to raise and lower pots over the hearth. This style, with its widely angled, pointed top, alludes to the hat of Ebisu one of the seven lucky gods.

Daikoku who was a farmer's god, and Ebisu a fisherman's god are both gods of the hearth; in the old days, proper reverence for them meant your pot would never be empty.
