Meisen Silk Polka Dot

Meisen 銘仙 kimono.  Meisen pieces have stencil dyed threads before the weaving process which gives the pattern a hazy edge. This process allowed for the use of silk that previously would have been discarded due to imperfection, bringing higher quality silk kimono to people at an accessible cost. The patterns are often highly colorful and graphic.
